COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Rochester College routs George Brown

ROCHESTER HILLS — After falling to NCAA DI Oakland University recently, the Rochester College women’s basketball team (7-8) came to play in front of their home crowd and won easily Tuesday over George Brown College, 69-32.

Rochester College tucked the game away by the half, building a 40-8 cushion. All 15 players saw action and 13 reached the scoring column.

Senior Erika Wasson (Romulus/University of Toledo) led the scoring brigade with 12 points. Senior Sam Tomaschko (Romeo) chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds, while Ke’ala Ka’aikala scored nine points and gathered eight rebounds for RC.

As a team, the Warriors shot 42.9 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from beyond the three-point arc. The Warriors held the Huskies to 25.5percent shooting from the field and did not allow the Huskies to sink a single three-pointer.

The Huskies turned the ball over 24 times.
