BOYS BASKETBALL: Lake Orion takes pole position in OAA-Blue; Clarkston posts series sweep of Lathrup
LAKE ORION — Alone at the top.
Lake Orion took sole possession of first place of the OAA Blue Division boys basketball race Tuesday, upending visiting Farmington Harrison, 59-45.
The Dragons built a 16-3 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back. By halftime, Lake Orion was in complete control with a 28-14 advantage.
The lead ballooned to 43-25 through three quarters of play.
Chaz Miller scored 19 for Lake Orion (9-4, 4-0).
Dorian Fields scored 13 for Harrison.
CLAKRSTON 60, SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP 48: Clarkston jetted out to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter and cruised to the OAA Red Division victory over the Chargers.
The win helped Clarkston (10-2, 5-1)stay in a first-place tie in the OAA-Red.
The Wolves led 36-18 at the half, thanks to a 12-8 edge in the second quarter. Lathrup closed with a 30-24 spurt in the second half to make it a 12-point game.
Jordan Dasuqi scored a game-high 24 to lead Clarkston. Andrew Myers added 12 points, Press Kampe added 11 points and Nick Owens scored seven for Clarkston, which finished 22-for-31 from the foul line.
Jonathan Williams scored 13 and Jeff Biles added 12 points for Lathrup, which finished 5-of-5 from the line.
