BOYS BASKETBALL: Stoney Creek downs Groves to pull even atop OAA-Gold standings; Everest, Adams, Rochester all roll to convincing wins

ROCHESTER HILLS — Behind a 22-10 fourth quarter, Rochester Stoney Creek pulled even atop the OAA Gold Division standings with a 58-50 victroy Friday over visiting Birmingham Groves.

Stoney Creek led 15-12 after the first quarter and 26-24 at the half. Groves used a 16-10 surge in the third frame to build a 40-36 lead.

Ben Termowski scored 15 and Eric Gilgenbach scored 14 to lead a balanced attack for Stoney Creek (8-5, 4-1). Stephan Makowski chipped I with 10 points and Charlie Carson chipped in with seven points for the Cougars.

Eddie Reese scored a game-high 21 for Groves. Emmanuel Thomas added 19 points for the Falcons (9-4, 4-1).

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 48, DETROIT CRISTO REY 22: Everest maintained its position in the CHSL Intersectional Division race with thisw lopsided win Friday.

The Mountaineers opened with a 22-2 run and never looked back, holding a 33-9 advantage by the half.

David Smith scored 10 and both Mitch Lasceski and Richie Cross added seven points each for Everest Collegiate (10-5, 7-1).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 82, TROY ATHENS 54: Adams moved to 13-0 on the season with this lopsided win Friday over Athens.

Zack Littleson  scpored 25 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Adams (13-0, 7-0). Akhemji Williams chipped in with 10 points for the Highlanders, who led 19-10 after the first quarter and used a 30-13 second-quarter surge to hold a 49-23 lead at the half.

Mike Williams had 13 points and John Van Hoef followed with 10 points for Athens. (3-11, 1-5).

ROCHESTER 69, OAK PARK 45: Rochester took over sole position of second place in the OAA White Division with this 24-point road win Friday.

James Young scored 39 points to go along with 19 rebounds for Rochester (11-2, 5-1).

Arben Camaj added 15 points and 10 rebounds and Jamar Randolph chipped in with 12 points for the Falcons.

Rochester opened with a 25-10 run and led 34-23 at the half. The Falcons pulled ahead with a 19-8 run in the third quarter and closed with another 18-14 run in the fourth.

Kenny Lockhart scored 20 for Oak Park (9-4, 3-2).

SOUTHFIELD 67, PONTIAC 52: Earl Swift scored 21 and Isiah Green added 14 points for Southfield in this OAA Red Division win.

Jarod Jones scored 18 and DeCorey Thompson added 16 points for Pontiac (6-8, 1-5).

SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 66, AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 52: Lindsey Hunter scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Eagles to the MIAC Blue Division win. Bakari Evelyn added 12 points for Southfield Christian.

Javarian Smith had 12 points and Drew Losee and John VanNoord added nine points apiece for Oakland Christian.

LAKE ORION 68, FARMINGTON 59: the Dragons sent 11 players into the scoring column and Lake Orion cruised to the OAA Blue Division victory.

Chaz Miller had 19 points and John McCarty followed with 12 points for the Dragons.
