| February 19, 2013 | Comments (0)

SAGINAW — A long bus ride home from Saginaw was worth it for Rochester Adams’ boys basketball team.

The Highlanders captured their 17th straight win on the road Monday, topping the Hawks 65-31 in a non-conference game.

Akhemji Williams scored 18 points to lead the Highlanders. Zack Littleson added 16 points and Tyler Eiseman chipped in with seven points for Adams, whose last loss came in double overtime to Rochester in last year’s Class A district semifinals.

Adams opened up with a 14-4 run and added a 19-10 spurt in the second quarter for a 33-14 halftime advantage.

The Highlanders blew the game open with an 18-8 run in the third frame to go up 51-18 before closing with a 14-9 run.

Jamal Young scored eight for Heritage.
