LANSING — Playing on its home court, Lansing Christian made Clarkston Everest Collegiate its 15th straight victim Monday night.

The Pilgrims rolled to a 79-53 triumph Tuesday in a Class D regional semifinal to advance to Wednesday’s regional finals to face Peck.

Lansing Christian wasted no time knocking Everest from its perch, outscoring the Mountaineers 40-15 in the first half, including 22-6 in the first quarter.

The Pilgrims added an 18-9 surge in the second quarter to help account for their 25-point halftime lead.

Everest Collegiate held a 19-16 upper hand in the third quarter, cutting the deficit down to 56-34 entering the final frame. The damage had already been done.

Josh Whitney scored 22 points and Skylar Ross added 20 points for Lansing Christian. Jay Noyola added 15 points for the Pilgrims.

Richie Cross scored a game-high 27 points for Everest Collegiate, which was playing in the regionals for the second straight season after opening only five years ago. Blake Beauchamp added 12 points for the Mountaineers.
