GIRLS SOCCER: Stoney Creek strikes down Troy

TROY — Rochester Stoney Creek remained perfect on the year, and the Cougars opened up OAA Red Division with a rain-shortened 1-0 girls soccer victory over Troy Tuesday.

The game was called due to persistent rain and lightning with 30:36 left in the contest.

Madison Toth scored the game’s only goal retrieving a pass from Hannah Darin and scoring from close-range for the Cougars (3-0-0, 1-0-0).

Troy slipped to 1-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in league play.

Halee Michal made on save for her second shutout of the season.

Alison Holland made three saves for Troy.
