SOFTBALL: Notre Dame Prep advances to CHSL semis
PONTIAC — Behind an eight-hit attack, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep found enough offense Monday to down Warren Regina in the CHSL Division 1 softball quarterfinals.
Hannah Antosz was 2-for-3 on the day, including a three-run homer, to pace the Fighting Irish. Liz Swartz was 2-for-3and scored a run for NDP.
The Irish took the early lead on the Antosz home run only to see Regina score one in the fifth and then erupt for four runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead. The Irish answered in the bottom of the sixth with three runs, including the game-winning RBI by Lauren Perkins.
Carly Joseph picked up the win, giving up five runs, three earned, on eight hits, while she walked two and struck out one.
