TUESDAY’S GIRLS SOCCER DISTRICTS: Notre Dame Prep blanks Clarenceville; Marian edges Avondale

PONTIAC — Behind two first half goals and five second-half tallies, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep opened up the Division 3 girls soccer state tournament Tuesday with a 7-0 shutout of Livonia Clarenceville in a pre-district contest .

Taylor Timko scored the first goal and finished with three goals for the Fighting Irish. Bella Galloway, Rosella Lochirco, Francesca Accurso and Hunter Williams added single goals for NDP (16-2-2).

Alex Arnoldy and Megan Kraus shared the shutout in goal on just one save.

BIRMINGHAM MARIAN 3, AUBURN HILLS AVONDALE 0: Catherine Anger scored bookend goals and Kelly Sweeney chipped in with a goal and an assists in this Division 2 pre-district win Tuesday. Marian advances to Thursday’s district semifinal against Bloomfield Hills Andover.soccer - ball & field
