GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Clarkston wins Flushing Invitational; Oxford reaches semis of Lakeview tourney
FLUSHING — Clarkston finished a perfect 6-0-0 on the day and claimed top honors at the Flushing Invitational.
Brianna Frakes dished out 52 assists and 12 aces to pace Clarkston, which moved to 18-4-1. Melanie Jguayo led the Wolves defensively with 52 digs, while Katie Chadwell contributed 48 kills and 10 aces for Clarkston.
OXFORD REACHES SEMIS OF LAKEVIEW TOURNAMENT
Oxford finished 3-1-1 at the Battle Creek Lakeview tournament and lost in the semifinals to Battle Creek St. Phillip.
Darian Bandel had 63 kills, seven blocks and 37 digs to lead Oxford (11-7-2). Kennedy Orr added 43 assists on the day and Regan Precour chipped in with 37 digs for Oxford.
