GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Oakland Christian reaches Sweet 16 with sweep of Brown City

MADISON HEIGHTS — This is only the third year for Auburn Hills Christian as a Class C school after nearly four decades of competing in Class D.

The Lancers are one win away from reaching the Class C state quarterfinals for the second time in that three-year span.

Oakland Christian rolled over Brown City Tuesday night in the regional semifinals, 25-12, 25-19, 25-23, at Madison Heights Bishop Foley. The Lancers will face Grosse Pointe Woods University-Liggett at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Foley for the regional crown.

Marcella Compeau led Oakland Christian with 13 kills. Camille Schomer added seven kills, Samantha Durrant had five kills and Elaine Haggard supplied 27 assist for the Lancers.
