BOYS BASKETBALL: Athens holds off Howell
TROY — Three players finished in double figures and Troy Athens held off Howell, 68-62, Friday in a non-conference boys basketball clash.
Nick Santoni scored 16, Tim Shayoka added 14 points John Van Hoef added 12 points and Corvin Brij tallied 11 points for the Red Hawks (5-2).
Athens trailed Howell 33-29 at the break, only claw back with a 18-13 run in the third quarter and a game-clinching 21-16 fourth quarter run.
Tyler Johnson scored 20 for Howell (3-3).
