BOYS BASKETBALL: Everest climbs over Jewish Academy; Divine Child clips NDP in overtime

CLARKSTON — A 25-13 lead after one quarter jet-fueled Clarkston Everest Collegiate to a 74-53 CHSL-Intersection Division win Thursday over West Bloomfield Jewish Academy.

Everest Collegiate hit 10 three-pointers on the night and had five players reach double figures in the win. Owen McMahon had 15 points to lead the balanced effort.  Luke Allen added 13 points, Steven Scott scored 12 and both Noah Beachamp and Lucas Nemi added 10 points apiece for the Mountaineers, who led 36-25 at the half and used a 38-26 second half to pull away further.

Dylan Bressler nailed four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for the Jaguars. Aidan Folde added 13 points for Jewish Academy.

DEARBORN DIVINE CHILD 57, PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 52 (OT): Divine Child used a 13-8 overtime session to pull away from Notre Dame Prep Thursday in CHSL-AA Division play. The two teams were tied at 44-44 at the end of regulation.
Zach Welker scored 21 and Danny Blade added 15 points for Divine Child, which closed the fourth quarter with a 13-6 run to force overtime. Jermaih Johnson scored 17 and Alex Stewart added 15 points for NDP, which led 23-20 at the half and 38-31 entering the fourth quarter.
