BOYS BASKETBALL: Southfield Christian soars past Lutheran Northwest; Eagles fall in OT; Adams downs Seaholm

SOUTHFIELD — Southfield Christian is the two-time defending state champions in the Class D boys basketball circles.

Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest saw firsthand that the Eagles are loaded once again. Southfield Christian maintained its stranglehold on the MIAC Blue Division lead Tuesday with a 84-42 thrashing of the Crusaders.

The Eagles (13-1, 9-0) were led by sophomore Marlo Brown with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Senior Lindsey Hunter IV added 19 points and freshman Brock Washington chipped in 15 points.

BURTON GENESEE CHRISTIAN 74, ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 70 (OT): Rochester Hills Christian came up short in overtime Tuesday in this non-league affair. Marquez Hatcher scored 29 and Ryan Patton added 20 for the Eagles (15-3).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 70, BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 42: Adams scored 47 points over the middle two quarter after being locked in an 11-11 tie to down the Maples Tuesday in an OAA crossover contest. Akhemji Williams scored 29 and Spencer Littleson added 10 points for Adams (9-3). Austin Peritee scored seven for Seaholm (8-4).
