GIRLS BASKETBALL: Stoney Creek hands Adams first loss
ROCHESTER HILLS — Rochester Stoney Creek held previously-unbeaten Rochester Adams to single digits in the final three quarters Tuesday and handed the Highlanders their first loss of the season with a 34-24 beatdown in an OAA crossover.
After being tied at 11-11 at the end of the first quarter, Stoney Creek outscored Adams 8-3 in the3 second period for a 19-14 halftime lead and never trailed again.
The Cougars (12-5) outscored Adams 15-10 in the second half.
Natalie Voss scored 10 and Lauren Voss and Maria Zandi added seven points each for Stoney Creek.
Amber Jamison scored nine to lead Adams (15-1).
