GIRLS LACROSSE: Athens battles Mercy to 16-16 draw; Rochester dumps Regina

TROY Alivia Baker finished with 14 saves and Troy Athens gained a respectable 16-16 draw with Farmington Hills Mercy in girls lacrosse action Saturday.

Morgan Bommarito led the Red Hawks with three goals and four assists. Sydney Bommarito had four goals and an assist, while Jena Peterson and Brooke Montana scored two goals apiece for Athens (1-0-1).

Mercy was led by Brooke Ottaway with four goals, while Lexi Kahler, Erica Aflor and Emily Garchow had three goals each for the Marlins (1-1-0).

ROCHESTER 17, WARREN REGINA 7: Jessica Leininger led the charge with five goals and one assist, as the Falcons cruised to the non-league win. Olivia Lord added three goals, Kayla Noswicki had two goals and one assist, while Megan Jose, Megan White, Kelsey Rea, Bella Weick, Mary Jindo, Liz Jordan and Krissy Lamb had singles goals each for Rochester (1-0-0). Defensively, Meghan Godell had six ground balls and five clears, while Mackenzie Van Vleck made 11 saves in goal for the Falcons.
