DAVISON — Judging by the numbers, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes has had a great track record in the Class D postseason over the course of the last decade.

The Lakers have reached at least the regional finals in eight of the past nine seasons, including this season. WOLL advanced to the state semifinals for the second straight season and sixth time in seven years with a 51-43 overtime victory Tuesday over Kingston at Davison High School.

WOLL (20-4) will face undefeated Pittsford (25-0) at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Final Four at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Allison Maiorana hit a three-pointer with 3:40 left in the overtime period Tuesday which put the Lakers up for good at 42-40, and Maddison Oshinsky followed with a jump shot from the base line to help fuel the game-clinching run.

WOLL, which won state titles in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and finished as the state runner-up in 2013, converted 7-of-11 free throws in the overtime period, where the Lakers outscored Kingston 12-4.

Lakes defeated Kingston in last year’s state quarterfinals as well (39-36) after they entered the postseason with a sub five-hundred record.

Sarah Savage split a pair of free throws to tie the game at 39-39 for Kingston and send the contest to overtime. Savage finished with 14 points for the Cardinals, who closed out regulation with a 15-9 run after trailing 30-24 through three quarters of play.

Sophomore Tiffany Senerius scored a game-high 17 points, eight in the second quarter as the Lakers opened up a 21-13 lead at the half. Oshinsky also reached double figures with 10 points.

WOLL will face unbeaten (25-0) in the semifinals. Pittsford, last year’s state runner-up, ousted WOLL in a 57-26 rout last March.
