BOYS SOCCER: Holly ousts Owosso

| October 17, 2017 | Comments (0)

HOLLY — Behind a dominating effort, Holly stayed alive in the Division 2 postseason Tuesday with a 1-0 victory over Owosso in a pre-district contest.

The Bronchos picked up a goal 47 seconds into the second half and the defense made it stand to advance to Thursday’s district semifinal against 20th-ranked Goodrich.

Kaleb Foglesong scored the game’s lone goal on a nice individual effort. The junior midfielder dribbled up the middle of the field, beat three Owosso defenders before lacing the game-winner.

Ethan Posma and Royce Pucher starred defensively for Holly (5-9-1) on the backline, while Nick Parker and Brock Pinagel were scoring threats throughout the contest. Justin Moulton picked up the shutout between the pipes for the Bronchos.
