BOYS SOCCER: Rochester, Oxford roll to district shutouts

WATERFORD — Rochester is hitting its stride.
The 10th-ranked Falcons, who reached the Division 1 state semifinals last season, captured their sixth straight win Monday night in a 5-0 pre-district victory over host Waterford Mott.
Rochester has outscored its final six opponents 25-1 and are 9-1-1 over its final 11 games, where the Falcons own a 34-3 scoring edge.
John Agoubi finished with two goals and an assist to pace Rochester (13-2-3), while Luciano Erracande added two goals and two assists and Sid Osborne also scored.
Luke Kastran made three saves for his third straight shutout and 10th overall — the Falcons’ seventh clean sheet in their last nine games.
Rochester has outscored the opposition 47-10 this season.
OXFORD 6, WATERFORD KETTERING 0: Wins were hard to come by for Oxford during the regular season.
The youthful Wildcats took out their frustrations on the Captains.
Senior Mitch Morawski netted a hat trick and Oxford advanced to the district semifinals Wednesday with this shutout of Kettering.
Sophomore Chris Esccalante added a goal and three assists and sophomore Nicholas Morawski added two goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Tristan Bennett recorded the shutout on four saves for Oxford (5-10-3), which has won three of its last four ballgames.
DIVISION 2
PONTIAC 3, ARMADA 2: Pontiac advanced to Wednesday’s D-2 district semifinals with this narrow home win Monday.
Jose Bererra scored twice for Pontiac (11-5-0).
