BOYS BASKETBALL: Stoney Creek drains Avondale
AUBURN HILLS — Behind a 17-8 third quarter, Rochester Stoney Creek pulled away from Auburn Hills Avondale Saturday afternoon in an OAA crossover boys basketball contest at The Palace of Auburn Hills, 61-52.
The Cougars led 31-28 at the half and 48-36 through three quarters of play.
Stoney Creek sent 12 players into the scoring column, led by Patrick Mertz’s 11 points. Scott Reader added nine points for the Cougars (8-3).
Jabbar Mims scored 17 and Darius Woods added 13 points for Avondale (3-6).
