GAM NOTEBOOK — Week of Nov. 15: Tell Us What You Think – and win
The GAM is constantly striving to make sure that we are giving you, our valued members, the best possible member benefit package. Please take a moment to complete this short “Click Through” survey and tell us what benefits you use the most, what benefits you might like to see added, and what your GAM membership means to you. This will help us as we plan for 2011 and beyond. Anyone who takes the survey will be entered into a drawing for some very cool golf prizes. This is your chance to help us develop and grow your GAM membership, so please take advantage!

Have a Chance to Play at Oakland Hills
Registration for 2011 GAM membership is available now! Members can renew their GAM memberships for 2011 — or sign up a friend for a gift membership. After all, the holidays are just around the corner! Sign up or renew before midnight Dec. 31, and you will be entered into a drawing to win a round of golf and lunch at the historic Oakland Hills Country Club (South Course), plus a video lesson with Oakland Hills’ Director of Instruction Steve Brady. Three lucky GAM members will be drawn on Jan. 15, and will be notified that day, as well as having their names listed on the GAM Web site. If you are one of the lucky winners, you will be playing with a GAM Governor who is a member at Oakland Hills CC. Just log into your GAM account with your username and password, renew via our secured online credit card processing, and you will automatically be entered to win this great prize.
Winter Posting
Beginning Jan. 1, 2011, the GAM is going to a year-round handicap revision schedule. That means you will not only be able to post your scores from Florida, Arizona, and other parts of the country with year-round active golf seasons, but you will also see your Handicap Index updated twice a month (1st and 15th of each month) as well! Be advised that some clubs are still using an older system that requires updates to be initiated manually at the golf club. Members at these clubs will not have their GAM/USGA Handicap Index updated until next spring.
No Change in Login,
but We Need Your E-Mail Address!
Many of you received an e-mail last month from the GAM stating that as of Nov. 1, you would have to use your e-mail address as your username when you logged into the GAM Web site. This will not be the case; everyone will keep their existing username and password. We received constructive feedback from many of our members who prefer to use their current username. However, you will see a prompt when logging into your members’ page to remind you to input your e-mail address. You will have until Feb. 1, 2011, to input your e-mail address, otherwise the system will not allow you to log into your account to post scores or register for a tournament.
