Oakland basketball season tickets now on sale for 2011-12 season

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Season tickets are now on sale for the 2011-12 Oakland University basketball season, athletics department officials announced on Thursday. The Golden Grizzlies are Back in Black for the upcoming campaign, which will feature a combined 10 non-conference games, in addition to The Summit League schedule.

Fan support has been a large part of the Golden Grizzlies men’s team posting a nation’s best 34-2 league record over the last two seasons. The Golden Grizzlies are back-to-back regular season and Summit League Tournament champions and are coming off their third trip to the NCAA Tournament after finishing 25-10.

The Oakland women’s team is also coming off a successful season posting 20 wins and advancing to The Summit League Championship game for the seventh time in 13 seasons. The men’s and women’s teams combined to post a 20-6 record in home games last season.

For the upcoming season, the non-league home opponents include Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan (at the Palace of Auburn Hills), Rochester College and Western Michigan for the men. On the women’s side, Oakland will host Providence, Clemson, UIC, and Rochester College.  Schedules and opponents are subject to change.  For updated schedules please visit OUgrizzlies.com.
