Wolves dunk Troy for fifth win
CLARKSTON — Behind first place finishes in 10 of 12 events, Clarkston glided past Troy 107.5-78.5 in an OAA Red Division girls swimming and diving meet Thursday.
Sami Stelpflug won two open events and swam on two winning relays for the Wolves (5-1, 3-0). Stelpflug, a sophomore, touched first in both the 200 free (1:56.95 and 500 free (5:08.25).She teamed with Kathryn Culver, Natalie Vela and sister Megan Stelpflug to win the 200 medley relay (1:53.62), while both Stelpflug sisters, Culver and Sydney thon won the 200 free relay (1:42.92).
Megan Stelpflug also won both the 100 free (55.13) and 100 backstroke (1:02.66), Culver the 100 breaststroke (1:08.67), Vela the 200 IM (2:21.59), and Monica Gorgas the 50 freestyle (26.56) for Clarkston.
The Wolves’ 400 free relay quartet of Gorgas, Maria Hallman, Kate Tekiele and Amber Linton capped the meet with a first-place victory of 4:00.01.
For Troy (0-5, 0-3), Brenna O’Brien won the diving (169.5) and Sunny Chiang the 100 free (1:03.84).
