NBA BASKETBALL: Benson to be let go by Golden State

| April 3, 2012 | Comments (0)

SAN FRANSISCO — Keith Benson’s first stint in the NBA will be a short one.

Benson, a 6-foot-11 center and 2011 graduate from Oakland University, won’t resign with the Golden State Warriors later this week when his 10-day contract expires.

Benson, who was drafted in the second round by the Atlanta Hawks, 48th overall, last June but did not make the final cut, was picked up by Golden State less than two weeks ago. He played a total of five games with three minutes of action, did not score and had one rebound.

Benson played 25 games in the NBA Developmental League with Sioux Falls.
