School: Madison Heights Bishop Foley Catholic

Notes: The Ventures had a coaching change midway through last season, so Cobb is trying to settle the dust and help create a winning program. Most of the starters are back, so expectations of a winning season and potential playoff berth are a realistic goal.
School: Riverview Gabriel Richard
Nickname: Pioneers
Coach: Thomas Michaelson, second season (2-7).
Assistant Coaches: x
2012 Record: 2-7, 1-5 CHSL-Intersectional Division (sixth).
Postseason Appearances: 2, 1999, 2003.
Offense: Veer Option
Defense: 4-2-5
Players Lost: David Ritchie, Danny Baum, Michael Schigelone, Tim Williams.
Key Players Returning: Jacob Lipetsky, soph. WR-QB-DB (6-4, 170); Colton Jarrat, sr. OL (6-5, 270); Patrick McBride, sr. OL-DT (6-4, 265); Pat McBride, sr. OT (6-4, 265); Tyler Blaszczak, jr. Key Newcomers: Josh Blaszczak, soph. WR (5-9, 150); John Crawford, jr. WR (5-9, 170).
Notes: the Pioneers must replace a four-year starting quarterback. Most of the defense is back, which should help Gabriel Richard yield less points. If this team can break in some offensive stars, then the Pioneers could move up in the standings.
School: Royal Oak Shrine Catholic
Nickname: Knights
Coach: John Goddard, 21st season.
Assistant Coaches: Craig Knudson, Mike McCollom, John Goddard, Brian Rich, Dan Noble
2012 record: 5-5, 2-4 CHSL-Intersectional (fifth).
Postseason Appearances: 14, 1977, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012
Offense: Spread
Defense: Multiple
Players Lost: Connor Francek.
Key Players Returning: Tim Nihaus, jr. QB-DB (6-1, 170); Will Arce, jr. TE (6-2, 190); Troy Button, jr. C (6-0, 190); Chris Kelly, jr. FB (5-10, 200); Jordan Gee, sr. RB (6-1, 170); Tripp Calanan, sr. LB (5-10, 170).
Notes: With experience on the lines, the Knights should be able to break in a new quarterback. Shrine is also trying to work in a new secondary, which could leave them vulnerable to passing teams early in the season. This team was quite young last season, starting seven sophomores, so this year and next season could be big years for Shrine, which has reached the postseason 10 straight times.
School: Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes
Nickname: Lakers
Coach: Josh Sawicki, first season.
Assistant Coaches: Jason Albrecht, Dylan Armstrong, Mark Smith, Lonnie Mullins, Jimmy Ziemann, Mike Schiano, Greg Glover

Key Newcomers: Brandon Keen, sr. OL-DT (6-6, 300) (transfer from Lake Fenton); Nick Robak, jr. WR (6-3, 170); Clay Senarious, soph. QB-DB (6-2, 180); Dylan Sabo, jr. QB-DB (6-1, 200); McClane Bertrum, soph. OL-DL (6-3, 225).
Notes: After46 years of being under the direction of Mike Boyd, the Lakers have a new head coach. WOLL is led by a pair of D-I recruits, plus several other quality athletes, and the expectations of contending for a league crown and postseason berth have not changed. The Lakers are going after their ninth postseason appearance in 10 years.

Notes: With only a combined seven returning starters back, the Chargers do not enter the season as league favorites. But if Powers has proven anything in recent years, it will likely be one of the better teams in its conference and be in the playoffs hunt later in the campaign.
