MICHIGAN SHOCK TO HOST OPEN GYM DATE
The Michigan shock AAU girls basketball program will host an open gym on Sunday, March 11, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Stars Basketball Club in Pontiac. The facility is located at 124 W. Columbia, 48340. Cost is $3 per player.
The 11th grade team will host tryouts from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 11 at the same facility. Cost is $10 per player.

MONEYBALL SHOOTOUT
The Moneyball Shootout AAU basketball tournament is headed for the Lansing area, March 12-13.
The tournament has brackets for boys 12U, 13U, 14U 15U, 16U and 17U, along with girls brackets for sixth, seventh and eighth grade teams.
Cost is $325 per team with a multi-team discount and each tem in each bracket is guaranteed four games. There is a 12-player roster limit per squad. Games are played with 16-minute halves.
The tournament will take place at the Aim High facility in Diamondale, Mich., located at 7977 Centerline Drive., 48821. The entry date is set for May 4.

AVONDALE PAIR WINS TRACK TITLES
Auburn Hills Avondale’s Kyle Redwine earned the Boys Track Performer of 2012 award on the winter indoor circuit, as the senior became one of the nation’s top sprinters.
Redwine won the 60-meter dash at the Michigan Indoor High School Championships Saturday at Eastern Michigan University, clocking in at 6.83 seconds. Redwine’s effort was the seventh fastest time in the U.S. this winter.
Teammate Nathan Chapman won the 800 meters in 1:57.0, giving Avondale two state champions at the club-level event.
ELITE LACROSSE EVALUATION CAMP COMING TO COUNTRY DAY
The Raging Rhinos Elite lacrosse team will be hosting an evaluation elite camps at 3 p.m. on March 10 at Detroit Country Day High school’s indoor facility. This is an open evaluation and welcome all players from any team or club and there is no cost.
The Raging Rhinos Elite team will be playing this year at four of the most competitive recruiting tournaments in the nation, attended by over 250 college programs and coaches. The Rhinos have been invited to play in the Syracuse Shoot Out July 6-7. This tournament is limited to only 32 teams nationally and is hosted by Syracuse University. The event will be widely-attended by some of the best Division I, Division II and Division III programs in the country.
During the fall of 2012 we will be attending the Cornfield Classic in Tully, N.Y. competing against the best public and private schools in New York State, Canada, and several other states.
The Rhinos will also be attending the Can-Am invitational tournament held at Detroit Country Day School, and will be playing against great competition from Canada and the Midwest and seen by best colleges, all divisions, in the West, Midwest and Eastern United States. The Rhinos are the only team from Michigan at this time playing in this tournament.
Additionally, the Rhinos will then finish the fall recruiting season with an invite to the Philly Classic, the only Midwest team invited to this highly-touted recruiting tournament, and again will be competing against the best teams in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas of New Jersey, Maryland and New York.
If you feel that you are a high-quality player and have a desire to attend a D-I, D-II or D-III college, the Rhinos offer the only schedule that is attending the finest fall recruiting tournaments. College recruiting has become one of seeing players at fall events, not during the summer. The Rhinos offer an opportunity for that high school player currently in 9th, 10th or 11th grade a chance to be seen by the best programs in the nation playing against the best competition in the nation.
