One of the most talked about discussions in high school athletics is the debate of about traditional public schools going against open-enrollment public schools, private schools, parochial schools and charter schools.

Many would like the Michigan High School Athletic Association to keep its decades old policy of placing everyone into classes or divisions based on enrollment, regardless of what type of school a particular institution is at each campus. Others would love to see private and parochial schools compete in separate state tournaments
