BOYS SWIMMING: Rochester edge Avondale
ROCHESTER — Both teams won six events, but Rochester had just enough depth to edge Auburn Hills Avondale 92-91 Friday evening in an OAA boys swimming meet.
Brien Moffitt won the 100 backstroke (58.56) and 100 butterfly (57.32), while Jacob Carl swam to wins in the 50 free (22.96) and500 free (4:49.07) for Rochester.
Marc Nahed captured the one-meter diving title (202.35 points) and Moffittt, Jeff Shuler, John Jones and Colin Berta captured the 200 free relay (1:41.20) to aid the Falcons’ cause.
Justin Gray won the 200 free (1:58.52), Kevin Yang the 100 free (53.97) and Thomas Nowinski both the 100 breaststroke (1:04.53) and 200 IM (2:16.04) for Avondale.
Jeff Nault, Nowinski, Gray and Young also joined forces to win the 200 medley relay (1:48.21), while Gray, Yang, Kevin Work and Mark O’Hara took the 400 free relay (3:44.73) for the Yellowjackets.
