BOYS BASKETBALL: Adams sets another school record; Clarkston edges West Bloomfield; Rochester holds off Lahser
BERKLEY — Rochester Adams scored what is believed to be a school record 38 points in the third quarter Tuesday and the explosion fueled a 80-44 OAA crossover triumph over Berkley.
Adams led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter and 33-26 at the half. The Highlanders used the stellar 38-13 run in the third frame to open up a 71-39 lead entering the fourth frame.
Akhemji Williams drained five 3-points en route to 24 points, nine steals and eight assists for Adams (15-0). Zak Littleson added 21 points and Sam Gasiorowski chipped in eight points for Adams, which drilled a total of 12 3-pointers as a team.
Johnathan Radner scored 20 for Berkley (3-12).
CLARKSTON 62, WEST BLOOMFIELD 50: Jordan Dasuqi lit up the scoreboards with five 3-pointers and a game-high 25 points Tuesday as the Wolves defeated the Lakers in OAA Red Division play.
Nick Owens added 16 points and Andrew Myers twined six points for the Wolves (13-3).
Clarkston opened with a 18-9 run and held a 35-25 lead at the half. The Wolves outscored West Bloomfield 27-25 in the second half.
Brandon Cole scored 15 and Michael King added eight points for West Bloomfield (6-9).
ROCHESTER 62, BLOOMFIELD HILLS LAHSER 55: James Young continued to dominate for Rochester, scoring a game-high 33 points to help the Falcons gain the OAA crossover road win over the Knights.
Jamar Randolph added 14 and Arben Camaj had six points for Rochester (12-2).
Yante Maten, Lahser’s 6-9 junior center, scored 25 points for the Knights. Armand Cartwright added 10 points and Khalil Gracey followed with nine points.
The back and forth game saw Lahser hold a 14-13 edge after eight minutes and Rochester rally back for a 30-27 lead at the half.
The Falcons outscored Lahser 32-30 in the second half.
