Farmington skates past Rochester; Stoney Creek ices Athens

Farmington scored the first four goals and held on for a 4-1 OAA Red Division boys hockey win over Rochester United at The Onyx Thursday.

Alex Schmitt scored bookend goals and Nick Elliott added a goal and an assist and Evan Movaghar also scored for the Falcons, who led 4-0 after two periods of play.

Tim Minotas scored in the third period for Rochester United. Aaron Sulesky and Michael Potoniec drew assists for United.

Farmington outshot Rochester 39-20. Tim Rogers made 19 saves for Farmington, while Ian Mercer netted 35 saves for Rochester.

ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 6, TROY ATHENS 2: Brian Gill had two goals and an assist to lead Stoney Creek to the OAA Red Division win Thursday at The Onyx. Sean Markaity and Joe Costello each had a goal and two assists for the Cougars (3-2, 2-1). Nathan Gurzell and Ryan Theuer scored for the goals for Athens (1-5, 0-3).

BLOOMFIELD HILLS UNITED 3, TROY 2: Brendan McAlister and Riley Enright both picked up a goal and an assist to lead United to the OAA White Division win at the Troy Sports Center. Camerom Schwalb also Hills scored for Bloomfield (4-1, 2-0). Brett St. Syr and Nick Kondolean both scored for Troy (1-9, 1-4).
