BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Oxford may not win the OAA Blue Division title in its first year in the conference. But the Wildcats may just have a say in the title run.

Oxford knocked off co-league leader Bloomfield Hills Lahser, 51-43, Friday night on the road, giving Rochester a one-game lead. Oxford only lost to Rochester by one point two weeks ago.

Trailing 9-8 after the first quarter, Oxford opened up a 27-20 lead at the half thanks to a 19-11 run in the second period.

Lahser closed the gap to within 37-32 entering the fourth quarter, only to see the Wildcats put the game away with a 14-11 fourth quarter spurt.

Mark Hazelwood trailed four e-pointers and exploded for 26 points in leading Oxford (5-7, 3-5). Chris Calvin added eight points and Jacques Toussaint chipped in with five points for the Wildcats, who finished the night 17-for-25 from the foul line.

Armand Cartwright scored 13 to lead Lahser (6-7, 5-2) and B.J. Lavallis added 11 points for the Knights, who were an ice cold 5-for-17 from the charity stripe.
