Eight local softball players earn All-State honors

Eight softball players with local ties were named to the 2011 Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association All-State teams, recently released across the state.
There were five players from Division 1 and three from Division 4 that hail from the www.northoaklandsports.com coverage area that earned All-State accolades.
On the Division 1 All-State First Team were Rochester Adams senior third baseman Emily Bryce, Lake Orion junior second baseman Brianna Schwarcz and Troy senior first baseman Lyndsey Mukomel.
Clarkston senior outfielder Elizabeth Zezula and Troy junior second baseman Laney Hart both made the D-1 honorable-mention all-state list.
In Division 4, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest senior shortstop Kristin Thompson and Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes senior second baseman Sarah Nuss made the first-team cut. Additionally Lakes senior outfielder Abbey Troy also made the cut.
