Genesee Christian snaps Troy Bethany’s streak

TROY— Burton Genesee Christian snapped Troy Bethany Christian’s 14-game unbeaten streak Wednesday with a 4-1 non-league boys soccer triumph.

Genesee Christian (4-6-3) defeated Bethany Christian (15-2-0), which had not lost since its third game of the season.

Bethany Christian scored first on a penalty kick by Ryan Woodham midway through the first half , but Genesee Christian responded with three goals before the end of the half.

Junior Hunter Selby headed in a throw in from sophomore Clay Selby and then Hunter Selby’s shot deflected off a Bethany Christian defender to out the Soldiers up for good.

Clay Selby scored the final two goals, one just before the half and another early in the second half to cap the scoring.
