CLARKSTON — Already winning a league title and setting a school record for wins, Clarkston has turned its attention to the state tournament.

The Wolves are hunting down their prey and devouring them in a hurry.

Clarkston swept Grand Blanc Wednesday in a Class A girls volleyball district semifinal on its home floor, posting a 3-0 sweep in a match that only lasted 50 minutes despite Game 2 going beyond 25 points.

The fourth-ranked Wolves posted scores of 25-10, 28-26, 25-17 to advance to Thursday’s district championship at home against Flint Metro League champion Fenton.

Fenton defeated Ortonville Brandon in Wednesday’s other district semifinal.

Brianna Frakes led Clarkston (51-5-0) with 32 assists. Stephanie Marani added 11 kills and seven blocks and Rachel Dickerson supplied 12 kills and five blocks for the Wolves.

Lauren Ulrich had 12 kills for Grand Blanc (21-12-2), which upset seventh-ranked Lake Orion in a tournament last weekend.
