CAMPUS CLIPS: Czerska Earns Summit League weekly award
ELMHURST, Ill. – Sandra Czerska was named The Summit League’s Swimming and Diving Female Athlete of the Week for her performance against Akron on Saturday, Jan. 7 as announced by the league office on Tuesday. She helped Oakland to a 155-145 victory over the Zips at Ocasek Natatorium.
Czerska, a native of Warsaw, Poland, won three individual events including a sweep of the butterfly events. She finished first in the 100-yard Fly with a time of 57.31 and the 200 Fly with a time of 2:06.99. She also touched the wall first in the 200-yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:08.86. Czerska was also a part of the winning 200-yard Medley Relay team that finished with a time of 1:47.80. It is her fourth career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season.
Oakland will be back in the pool next weekend as both the men’s and women’s teams will host Cleveland State and Xavier on Saturday Jan. 14 in the OU Aquatics Center.
