Athens vaults past rivals Troy, Farmington
TROY — Troy Athens-Avondale Unified picked up a pair of crucial wins Wednesday in gymnastics and enough to keep the Red Hawks in the lead for the Oakland Activities Association title.
Athens-Avondale collected 144.0225 team points, good enough to best long-time nemesis Farmington Unified (141.300) and Troy (136.45).
Avondale-Athens is now 5-0 on the year and 3-0 in the OAA.
