Stoney Creek gains long-awaited win over Rochester United

ROCHESTER — After several near-misses against its arch-rival, Rochester Stoney Creek finally iced Rochester United Saturday night.

The Cougars picked up five goals from four different players to post a 5-2 rout of Rochester in an OAA Red Division hockey game at The Onyx.

It was the first league win of the season for Stoney Creek.

Rochester (6-12-1, 3-4-0)

Mitch Harvey scored twice to lead the Cougars, including the third tally which proved to be the game winner.  Chris Stanbury and Josh Niederhauser both added a goal and an assist, Jeff Simon scored a goal and Matt Zeulch and Taylor Zuke both had two assists for Stoney Creek.

Maxx Grant gained the win between the pipes.

Rochester United (3-4 OAA-Red) picked up goals from Brent Boudreau and Kevin Kurzeja.
