FRIDAY’S BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Dragons singe Athens; Rochester, WOLL record cage wins

LAKE ORION — Behind a 37-24 second half, Lake Orion bounced back from a double-overtime loss to Rochester on Tuesday with a 61-47 OAA Blue Division triumph over Troy Athens.

John McCarty scored 21 to lead Lake Orion. Justin Walukonis added 16 points and Chaz Miller added provided 11 points for the Dragons (9-5, 2-2), who recorded only three wins last season.

Caleb McIntosh scored 17 and Aaron Fox added eight points for Athens (10-4, 2-2).

Lke Orion led 15-13 after the first quarter and 24-23 at the half. The Dragons used a 18-10 third quarter for a 42-33 advantage.

ROCHESTER 70, BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 48: The Falcons won for the 13th straight time, going up 24-12 after the first quarter and 42-21 at the half.

Paris Pereoira scored a game- and season-high 30 points to pace Rochester. Taylor Perry added 19 points and Mike Murri scored six for Rochester (13-1, 5-0).
Paris Bass scored 19 and Brett Houghton added six points for Seaholm (8-4, 4-2).

WATERFORD OUR LADY OF THE LAKES 58, MARINE CITY CARDINAL MOONEY 49: Garrett Ross scored 18 and Jake Doetsch added 12 points of the Lakers (7-7).

David Sharpe scored 23 for Cardinal Mooney.

LAKE ORION BAPTIST 61, CLINTON TOWNSHIP FAITH CHRISTIAN 37: The Lions jetted out to a 22-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in recording this FBA Cred Division win Friday.

James Noruk scored 21 points to lead the way. Mark Dewar added 10 points and nine rebounds and Jasson Noruk chipped in with nine points and 14 rebounds for Lake Orion Baptist.

The Lions led 33-19 at the half and blew the game open with a13-8 third quarter, god for a 46-27 advantage by that point.

Mike Bossner scored 10 for Faith Christian, while Steve Berlin and Jacob Belloli both added seven points each for the Patriots.

TROY 63, ROCHESTER ADAMS 47: Troy built a 29-27 lead at the half then turned on the heat with a 22-5 run in the third quarter to pull away and post this OAA White Division victory.

James Young scored 36 points to lead Troy. Zak Noor added 11 points and Joe Leonard scored eight for the Colts (9-4, 41-).

Zack Littleson scored 17, Akhemji Williams added 10  points and James Berger twined nine for the Highlanders (7-6, 3-2).

AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 66, STERLING HEIGHTS PARKWAY CHRISTIAN 42: Nathan Piasecki and D.J. Stevens both scored 14 points to lead Oakland Christian. John VanNoord and Chris Polite chipped in with eight points apiece for the Lancers (10-3, 5-3).

Jay Kocik scored 13 to pace Parkway Christian.

PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 57, ALLEN PARK CABRINI 56
: Kellen McCormick scored a game-high 18 points to lead a balanced attack in leading the Fighting Irish to the CHSL AA Division win.

Vinny Famularo added 11 points and both Ryan Pierce and Jermiah Johnson scored six apiece for Notre Dame Prep (8-4), which made eight three-pointers in the win. .

Shawn David scored 16 for Cabrini.

CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 42, DETROIT CRISTO REY 33: Donald Allen scored 22 to lead the Mountaineers to the CHSL win.

Richie Cross and Blake Beauchamp added six points for Everest (11-3, 6-1), which closed with a 25-18 second half after leading just 17-15 at the half.

OXFORD 72, BLOOMFIELD HILLS ANDOVER 67: The Wildcats built an 52-43 lead through three quarters and held on for the OAA Gold Division win over the Barons.

Mark Hazelwood scored 24, Michael Kitchner added 13 points and Ben Magdaleno chipped in with nine points for Oxford (10-4, 4-1), which finished only 21-for-37 from the charity stripe in the narrow win.

Devon Herzoff led three Barons in double figures with 15 points. Jeremy Fishman added 12 points and Terrence Garrett scored 11 for Andover (7-8, 1-4).

FARMINGTON 62, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 47: Bryan Green scored 20 and Chris Moran added 16 for Farmington in this OAA Blue Division contest.

Ben Temrowski scored 16 and Stephan Makowski added 10 points for Stoney Creek.
