ELMHURST, Ill. – The Oakland softball team earned two spots on the All-Summit League teams as Erika Polidori was named All-Summit League first team and Erin Galloway was named All-Summit League second team, as voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.  This is the second consecutive season that both Polidori and Galloway have named to all-league selections.

“I’m very proud of Erika and Erin as they both worked extremely hard this season and it is well deserved honors,” said head coach LaDonia Hughes. “I look forward to both of them returning and expect them to be strong leaders this coming season.”

Polidori, an outfielder from Brantford, Ontario, Canada, led the Golden Grizzlies in batting average (.379), hits (44), runs (23), slugging percentage (.647) and on-base percentage (.451).  She also drove in 15 runs and stole 17 bases while being tied for first on the team in home runs (6) and doubles (9).

Galloway, a second baseman from Grove City, Ohio, led Oakland with 23 RBIs, while hitting .274 in a team-high 146 at-bats. She was second on the team in hits (40), slugging percentage (.377) and home runs (2).  Galloway also led the team in assists with 104 and was tied for the team lead in doubles with nine.

Polidori and Galloway are the first Golden Grizzlies to be selected to consecutive all-league teams since Julie Owen earned all-league honors three years in a row from 2007-2009.
