OXFORD — Oxford won seven events, but Rochester Adams proved to have too much depth Thursday in a 111-75 OAA boys swimming and diving victory over the host Wildcats.

Ben Walling won the 500 free (5:05.71), Kyle Larson the 100 backstroke (59.00) and Austin Xu the 100 breaststroke (1:09.80) to lead Adams. The Highlanders (2-1) also posted victories in the 200 medley relay (1:49.28) and 400 free relay (3:33.90).

Jarred Butler won both the 50 free (22.36) and 100 free (49.36), while Erick Vandecar emerged as a double winner with victories in the 100 butterfly (59.44) and 200 IM (2:09.39) for Oxford (0-3).

Cheyene Stresky won the 200 free (1:55.33) Marco Campagiorni the diving (212.50 points) and Oxford also posted a win in the 200 medley relay (1:36.96)

“There was some very strong competition between Oxford and Adams,” said Oxford coach Jacuelyn Rank. “Erick Vandecar from Oxford set a new school record in the 200 IM, as did Marco Campagiorni from Oxford in the diving. Jarred Butler from Oxford set a new pool record in the 50 freestyle and Kyle Larson from Rochester Adams set a new pool record in the 100 backstroke. The depth of Adams 50-member team was too much for Oxford.”
