BLOOMFIELD HILLS — In recent years, Clarkston and Lake Orion have put together many close, and sometimes epic, matchups out on the ice.

Saturday night was another chapter in the rivalry.

Holding a slim 4-3 lead, Chad Wiedemann put the game away for Clarkston with a goal with just 1:03 remaining in helping Clarkston skate to a 5-3 OAA Red Division win over the Dragons at the Detroit Skate Club.

Jack Viazanko made 28 saves for Clarkston (10-7-3, 3-2-2) and four different players tallied for the Wolves, who have won five straight and outscored the opposition 24-9 in that stretch. Clarkston is 6-0-1 in its last seven games.

Ben Bock brought Lake Orion (5-8-5, 1-3-3) to within 4-3 with 3:03 left, but the Dragons could not cash in again.

Clarkston built a 3-0 lead by early in the second period, as Joe Smith, Carter Rea and Kyle Hograth all tallied in that stretch for the Wolves.

Marc Kercher and Connor Moesta brought Lake Orion to with 3-2 by the end of the third period. The Dragons could never get over the hump and tie the contest.

Pollish pushed the lead to 4-2 Clarkston with 6:09 left in the third period.

Logan Aldrich made 28 saves in 33 attempts for Lake Orion.
