| February 19, 2013 | Comments (0)

PONTIAC — For the first time in many years, the city of Pontiac has a Division I baseball prospect.

Pontiac High’s Dazon Cole, still a junior, committed to Central Michigan recently, giving the Phoenix a legitimate high-level college prospect.

Cole, an infielder and right-handed pitcher, still has two seasons of high school baseball left.

Last season as a sophomore, Cole earned All-OAA Gold Division and All-District honors in Division 1 as long as All-North Oakland Area Honorable Mention.

Cole, who also wrestles and plays football, hit .400 from the plate and threw a pair of no hitters from the mound.
