THURSDAY’S GIRLS SOCCER: Notre Dame Prep blanks Gabriel Richard; Adams edges Troy; Lake Orion, Athens battle to draw
PONTIAC — Behind another offensive display, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep remained unbeaten on the young girls soccer season Thursday.
The Fighting Irish, who reached the Division 3 Final Four last June, cruised to a 3-0 shutout of Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard in a CHSL-AA Division contest.
Taylor Timko scored all three goals for NDP (2-0-0, 1-0-0). Sarah Mazur, Hannah Zapcyznki and Bella Galloway recorded assists and Alex Arnoldy recorded a shutout between the pipes for the Irish.
Gabriel Richard slipped to 1-1-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.
ROCHESTER ADAMS 1, TROY 0: Mackenzie Barber scored in the first half off a Jenny Rosonke assist and the Highlanders’ defense made it stand Thursday in this OAA Red Division tilt.
Alison Holland made four saves in a losing effort for Troy.
TROY ATHENS 0, LAKE ORION 0: Nothing was settled Thursday as these two OAA Red Division foes battled to a scoreless draw.
Lauryn Auspitz made five saves for Lake Orion (3-0-2, 0-0-1). Amanda Harris notched six saves for Athens (3-0-2, 1-0-1).
