GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Oxford sails past Adams, earns district finals date with Clarkston

CLARKSTON — Oxford finished third in the OAA Red Division this season, trailing only Clarkston and Lake Orion.

Now the Wildcats will get a shot at redemption at one of them.

Thanks to Clarkston 3-1 victory over Lake Orion and Oxford’s sweep of Rochester Adams Wednesday, both coming in district semifinals clashes at Clarkston, Oxford will get one final shot this season at Clarkston, which defeated the Wildcats twice this season.

Oxford posted a 25-23, 25-15 25-16 triumph against Rochester Adams to earn its right to play the state-ranked Wolves.

Oxford (35-14-5) overcame a 23-20 deficit in Game 1 against Adams and led most of the way in the second and third sets.

Darien Bandel finished with 15 kills to lead the Wildcats. Julia Walker slammed 12 kills and Kennedy Orr chipped in with 20 assists for Oxford.

Adams finishes 20-20-2.
