GIRLS BASKETBALL: Clarkston erupts for win over West Bloomfield
CLARKSTON — Behind a 14-2 lead in the first quarter, Clarkston grabbed a decisive 53-38 OAA Red Division girls basketball victory Monday over visiting West Bloomfield to remain in the league race.
The Wolves led 30-10 at the half and led by as many as 23 points in the third quarter before clearing their bench.
Erika Davenport led Clarkston with 14 points, 21 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Kacy Robinson added 15 points for the Wolves.
Dazia Dinkins led West Bloomfield with 15 points.
ROCHESTER HILLS CHRISTIAN 46, TROY CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 38: Behind a large fourth-quarter surge, Rochester Hills Christian continued to impress Monday with this non-conference win over visiting Troy Christian Leadership Academy.
Freshman Makayla Smith scored a season high 15 points, while junior Ashley Parker collected her third straight double-double by scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds. Junior Jenna Porter rounded out the night with eight points and four steals for Rochester Hills Christian (8-0).
Kayla Bloodworth collected 14 points in the loss for CLA (12-2).
