WEDNESDAY’S BOYS BASKETBALL: Olis’ 39 points sparks Notre Dame Prep past Gabriel Richard
PONTIAC — Mitchell Olis scored a career-high 39 points and Pontiac Notre Dame Prep posted a 77-66 CHSL boys basketball victory Wednesday over Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard.
Olis was in the zone, canning eight 3-pointers, three two-point baskets and was a crisp 9-for-11 from the foul line in leading the Fighting Irish.
Jermaih Johnson added 10 points and Andrew Woodrich scored seven for NDP (3-3).
Notre Dame Prep led just 19-18 after the first quarter only to see Gabriel Richard soar back with a 22-19 second-quarter run to take a 40-38 lead the half. The Fighting Irish outscored Richard 39-26 in the second half.
NDP made 21-fo-26 foul shots in the contest, while Richard was only 1-of-3 from the charity stripe.
Jason Houle made five 3-pointers and scored 26 for Gabriel Richard. V added 15 points and Kamari Davis chipped in with 14 for the visitors.
