ELMHURST, Ill.– Oakland University’s Reggie Hamilton was named The Summit League men’s basketball player of the week, announced by the league office on Tuesday. Hamilton, a junior guard from Chicago, posted a career-high 31 points in an 18-point win over second-place IPFW last Saturday.

Hamilton finished 9 of 14 from the floor and 2 of 6 from beyond the arc against the Mastodons. He was a perfect 11-for-11 from the free-throw line, and posted six rebounds and five assists in the game.

He ranks second in the league in assists per game (4.8) and 3-pointers made per game (2.5). Hamilton is a perfect 31-for-31 from the charity stripe in league play and became the first OU player to surpass the 30-point plateau this season.

Hamilton will lead the Golden Grizzlies into the Dakotas for games at South Dakota State (Jan. 20) and North Dakota State (Jan. 22). Oakland is riding a 15-game league winning streak.
