THURSDAY’S PREP ROUNDUP: Eagles maintain FBAC-Red lead
ROCHESTER HILLS — Although Rochester Hills Christian has a make-up game on the docket with Troy Bethany Christian, the Eagles will at the very least own the FBAC Red Division championship.
The Eagles made sure of that with a 51-15 rout Thursday of Lake Orion Baptist.
Megan Steiner had 12 points and seven rebounds to pace the Eagles. Jane Crile had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Rochester Hills Christian (19-1, 7-0), which has long since shattered the school record for wins.
Julina Moreno had eight points for Lake Orion Baptist (4-10, 2-6).
BIRMINGHAM GROVES 48, OXFORD 34: The Wildcats dropped this OAA White Division contest, which moved the Wildcats’ record to 3-14 overall and 3-8 in conference play.
“Tonight was another game where we were close but we just didn’t get a long-enough scoring run on them to make our defense work for us,”: offered Oxford coach Al Poynter. “They are a very balanced team and we took their best shot since it was their senior night, so I am proud of our girls for handling the tough situation and making a game of it.”
