Waterford Our Lady edges Jaguars; Northwest ousted
CLARKSTON — Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes opened up the postseason with a 33-27 victory over West Bloomfield Jewish Academy in a Class D district at Clarkston Everest Collegiate.
Austin Karbowski had 11 points to lead WOLL (14-7). Jake Doetsch added eight points for the Lakers, who were only 11-for-20 from the foul line.
WOLL led 13-10 after the first quarter and 17-16 at the half. The Lakers pulled away with a 16-11 second half.
AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 68, CLARKSTON EVEREST COLLEGIATE 48: Nathan Piasecki scored 18 points and Drew Perrin added 12 points to lead Oakland Christian (20-1) to the district opening win over the host Mountaineers. Charles Hayden followed with 11 points and John Van Nord scored nine for Oakland Christian. Whcihc opened with a 21-4 run and led 35-17 at the break. Ben Marcial scored 13 and Donald Allen added 11 points for Everest (13-8).

MADISON HEIGHTS BISHOP FOLEY 76, ROCHESTER HILLS LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 54: Four players scored in double figures for the host Ventures, who cruised to the district semifinal win. Michael Oravetz and Jordan Walker both scored 18 and Andrew Shango and Max Aleshire both followed with 11 points for Bishop Foley, which led 36-26 at the half and 61-43 through three quarters of play. Mike Miller scored 15, Josh Morrison added 11 and Greg Vanderboord netted eight points for Northwest (9-12).
CLASS A
CLARKSTON 58, HOLLY 40: Clarkston won for the 12th straight time Wednesday at Fenton, posting this 18-point win in a Class A district semifinal. The Wolves will play Grand Blanc, a 51-35 winner over Ortonville Brandon in Wednesday’s other semifinal, for the district championship at 7 p.m. Friday, also at Fenton.
