BOYS LACROSSE REGIONALS: Rochester, Adams, Troy all ousted in regional play

TROY— Ann Arbor Pioneer built an 8-1 lead at the half, then held on to oust Rochester 9-7 Wednesday in a Division 1 boys lacrosse regional semifinal at Troy Athens.

The Pioneers will advance to Friday’s regional final at Troy Athens to take on the host Red Hawks, which defeated Utica Eisenhower, 6-4, in the other semifinal.

TROY ATHENS 6, UTICA EISENHOWER 4: Athens advanced to the regional finals for the fourth straight season by edging past the Eagles Wednesday in this Division 1 regional semifinal at Athens.

The Red Hawks advance to the regional finals on Friday, where they will face Ann Arbor Pioneer at 7 p.m. at Athens. The Pioneers are one of four teams to defeat Athens in the regular season.

ANN ARBOR PIONEER 9, TROY 8 (OT): Pioneer rallied back with a goal with five seconds left in regulation, then scored the game-winner in overtime Saturday to advance to the regional semifinals.

WARREN DELASALLE 7, ROCHESTER ADAMS 5: DeLaSalle advanced to the regional finals with this two-goal win over the Highlanders at Farmington High School. The Pilots will face Grosse Pointe South at 6 p.m. Friday for the regional title.
