Troy Athens High School Administration,
It is a real shame that your athletics department and administration are turning something that should be wonderful into something far less! Eisenhower and Athens are scheduled to play a first round Regional soccer game tomorrow, June 7, 2011. Other Regional games are scheduled on June 8th. Athens and Ike are 2 of the best teams in the state, so the game should be a good one. However, tomorrow is also Eisenhower’s Senior Prom. Evidently, Athens is aware of this fact, and is unwilling to move the game to either Wednesday or Thursday. This is just bad sportsmanship… something your school must not be proud of! Is Coach Storch so desperate for another state championship that he is willing to do this? If so, and Athens wins against a depleted Ike team, then this championship will have an asterisk. Is THAT how Coach Storch wants to be remembered? One must wonder what Athens is afraid of?
